US Latino population currently stands at 40  million and is growing at 4 times the rate for the rest of the population. 78% of US Latinos speak Spanish, even if they also know English, according to the Census Bureau. Latinas (women) spend $1.6 billion per year in the beauty category.  The average Latina spends 17% more than her general market counterpart. Across all cosmetic categories Latinas over index the general market, for example, 73% more Latinas are considered "heavy users" of foundation. Different values, traditions, and mindset among Latinas impact the way they perceive and use beauty products. Marketing in Spanish is a key reason for product purchase and brand loyalty. Identity with Latino culture is a key selling point.
